You will learn:
The Advanced Buildings approach to optimizing energy efficiency in
commercial buildings offers:
- A step-by-step simplified design approach for designing energy
efficient commercial buildings
- Savings of up to 30% above national building standards such
as ASHRAE 90.1-2004
- No energy modeling necessary for buildings up to 70,000 square
feet
- Score up to five points in LEED Energy and Atmosphere Credit
1 without energy consultants or energy modeling on most building
types*
- Cost effective alternatives even on those “no frills”
projects including:
o High performance envelopes
o Efficient, high-quality lighting
o Integrated HVAC design
o Better indoor environmental quality
- Powerful features for buildings over 100,000 SF as well
- More sustainability with less effort
* Commercial Buildings under 100,000 SF.
Who should attend?
- Architects
- Building owners and their representatives
- Engineers
- Project Managers
- Design/Build Contractors
- LEED Accredited Professionals
Core Performance can be applied to any building, but
is most effectively used for the design of commercial, municipal
and school buildings up to 70,000 square feet. Larger buildings
or multifamily or industrial buildings have more intensive process
loads and may require more advanced design options.
Note: This training provides guidance
on designing with products, methods and materials that are readily
justifiable at today's energy rates and readily available (but not
commonly applied). Further, it emphasizes an enhanced approach to
the design process that can dramatically improve overall building
energy efficiency. |
