Fran Boucher, National Grid
Fran Boucher has 25 years experience in the area of energy
efficiency, building operation and construction related to
commercial buildings. He is currently Program Manager in the
Commercial and Industrial Energy Conservation Group within
National Grid.
Fran was a member of the Review Committee for both the Advanced
Buildings Benchmark and the Reference Guide,
which are the foundation of the Advanced Building program
and this training program. He heads the Sustainable Design
program and the Comprehensive Design Incentive Program for
National Grid.
Over the past four years Fran has created and presented numerous
training programs on various commercial energy conservation
topics, including Advanced Buildings, to a variety
of professional audiences. Previously he has held positions
as the Energy Manager for CVS Stores and the Energy Director
for Tufts University. He has a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
from WPI and is a Certified Energy Manager CEM.
Mark Frankel, New Buildings Institute
An architect and LEED Accredited Professional, Mark is one
of best known and respected green building/energy efficiency
consultants in the country.
Mark reviewed many of the LEED submittals for energy efficiency
under contract to the U.S. Green Building Council and has
served as an energy efficiency consultant for over 100 design
teams. He previously worked at Paladino & Company and
Ecotope as a consultant and trainer. He also serves on the
board of directors of the Cascadia Green Building Council,
the largest chapter of the USGBC.
Terry Egnor, New Buildings Institute and MicroGrid
Terry has been CEO of two companies (MGH and currently MicroGrid,
Inc.) focused on the delivery of high performance building
services to large commercial and light industrial clients.
Former Director of the Edmunds Community College Energy Management
Program, Terry was responsible for program development, implementation
and coordination with industry representatives for a two-year
commercial energy management degree program for engineers
and utility personnel. Prior to that he was Director of Training
for Ecotope, developing and implementing energy-related curricula,
including an 18-month conservation/solar installation and
design program. Most recently he has assisted in development
and delivery of training materials for the NEEA BetterBricks
program. Terry currently works with New Buildings Institute
managing the development of technical publications and training
and conducting comparative studies of building performance.
